Content: Auto Parts Counterman and Counter Pro Training and information website. Ever notice there's all sorts of product training? Manufactures will always tell you how great their product is. They will hold trade shows and installer technical trainings. Every manufacture these days has a YouTube channel to train the technician on their parts and diagnostic procedures. That's all great. What Iâ€™ve noticed is Counter Pro (counterman) training is pretty slim. Ideally counter pro's have knowledge and experience in the automotive industry. They know how to use our cataloging systems, they know how to multi-task, they know customer courtesy, and know how to follow through until the customer is satisfied. Wowâ€¦. Lots we expect of out Counter Proâ€™s yet we donâ€™t have any information for them. Who is training your Counter Proâ€™s? Other staff? All store staff needs improvment whether they know it or not. Some donâ€™t think they need any improvement. Others look to improve. If you're looking to improve... what training is offered?? Where do you go?? There is no staff training like there is for "features and benefits" or diagnostic training. In my 25 years working in parts stores, I've went from driver to being an operations supervisor for multiple locations. I've seen every position and know these positions hurdles. To get staff past these hurdles has been my own hurdle. You see the problems, you see the solutions.. but to get people to act on the solutions is tough. Your staff needs to want to improve. Most of the time... other staff is training those who need it. Right or wrong, tactful or not. That's all there is. For those that want to improve, this site is available to them. It will have information and training for Counter Pro's. Yes product knowledge is a huge part of it but there are other area's never touched that auto parts store staff needs. They need position specific training and a guide to follow. That's the goal of this web site.
